Something for the English speaking…

I said that I’ll write my next blog in English! It took me quite a while as there was so much going on at work and in school, but finally, here it is! 🙂 *hoooraaay*

Just a little review of my holidays in France.
It really was a great time! Felt like home, but on holidays 🙂

The location was far away from any bigger city but as we concentrated on knitting that was no major problem.
Our hosts Sue and Culli are a nice helpful couple. They really understand pampering exhausted women 😉

Sue’s cooking was just awesome and Culli always offered the best wines (well, I didn’t drink that much, but I could have had!)

On the knitting retreat I met three other ladies, Angela, Verna and Jennifer. They all live in Germany at the moment. Verna is Canadian and Angela and Jennifer are American.
We talked about everything and I understood 95 percent of it 🙂 It was quite a relief actually to talk in English, rather than French. Because my lousy French from school really needs some further practise 😉

We all learnt new knitting skills, beading, intarsia, cables, reading patterns, and much more. We also went to La Rochelle, Saint Jean d’Angely and to Château Crazannes. The area in the Charente Maritime is wonderful and we were really lucky with the weather. Autumn is a good time to go there. The nature looks beautiful and it’s not too hot and not too cold.

I can really recommend these knitting retreats. I’ve never made anything like this, but I would like to do it again 🙂
For people from a non-English-speaking country it’s a good language practise, like in a host family. And it’s great to meet new people. And the price really is reasonable, with all the delicious food and knitting help included.

So have a look on this webpage: Knittingholidaysinfrance

…. also for my penfriend Laura, just have a look, it’s great 🙂

well that was it for now, I wish you a wonderful time. And it would be nice to here from anyone of you again soon, knitting-girls!! (or visit me in Switzerland!) 😉

so long… xxoo
Emily
